The passing [videorecording] / Bill Viola. [1991]

Viola explores the passing of time through images of a newborn baby, his deceased mother, and himself, submerged under water. Scenes of dreams and waking life meld together to reveal the space between the conscious and the subconscious as Viola represents his own mortality.
